JLL’s Mid-Atlantic Retail team was selected by Shinola Detroit, the American luxury lifestyle brand, to identify and secure a retail space in the prime area of Washington, DC offering the greatest exposure to Shinola Detriot’s target demographic.
In order to deliver the right space to Shinola, the leasing team leveraged JLL’s internal Research and Strategy group to create a thematic “heat map” showing a dot density study of target customers in order to identify store placement. Once Shinola selected their ideal location, JLL quickly negotiated the Letter of Intent to aid in achieving opening timeframe. Additionally, JLL aided in providing Shinola Detroit with various vendors to ensure speed to market.
JLL secured, leased and opened Shinola Detroit’s US flagship store in Washington, DC while accomplishing speed to market significantly under Shinola’s timeframe. Shinola’s new DC store vies for highest sales location with the brand’s locations.
