CUPERTINO, CA, Oct. 19, 2007 – Jones Lang LaSalle was selected by Orbit Resources, Inc. to perform specialty leasing and serve as managing agent for Cupertino Square, a unique 1.4-million-square-foot urban retail center in the Silicon Valley.
The Jones Lang LaSalle team on this project include Mike Rafferty, who is leading the specialty leasing team, and General Manager Mike Rohde.
“We are very pleased to have been selected for this prestigious assignment,” said Greg Maloney, President and CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Retail. “Cupertino Square is one of the area’s most prominent shopping destinations. We are eager to put our talented team to work on enhancing the overall shopping experience here while increasing the center’s overall value on behalf of our client.”
Located at Stevens Creek Boulevard and Wolf Road, Cupertino Square is a three-level urban retail, commercial and residential destination providing a unique blend of retail, dining, entertainment and residential elements that create an energetic cosmopolitan scene.
The center originally opened in 1976 as the Vallco Fashion Park and was one of the largest shopping malls in the Silicon Valley. Recently renovated and renamed, Cupertino Square is anchored by JCPenney, Macy’s and Sears. It features a new AMC Theater and Strike, a 38,000-square-foot, 32-lane upscale bowling, dining and entertainment center.
In addition, the build-out of a new 14-restaurant food court is underway as well as various interior and exterior improvement projects. An additional 40,000 square feet of outdoor retail space will be added in 2008.
